COOKWARE 101

STAINLESS STEEL
Commonly used for kitchen equipment and widely used because it does not react with alkaline or acidic food. The best one comes with a disk of copper or aluminum base, which helps it to conduct the heat across sufficiently. Nevertheless, it can wrap and develop hot spot.

GLASS
The greatest advantage of glass cookware is that they can be used in the oven, microwave or stovetop to the dining table and into the freezer. It is an impressive heat conductor although it takes up a bit longer time to heat up but retains the heat well. Therefore it is time and energy saving in cooking by using the retained heat to finish the cooking.

GLASS CERAMIC
The best part is, it can be taken directly from deep freeze to the stovetop and to the dining table. It is proven resistant to extreme heat, is suitable for roasting, broiling and baking in both conventional and microwave oven. As its cousin sister, glass ceramic cookware as well, retains and distributes heat across satisfactorily.

Introduction

To begin with…

I’ve found the passion in cooking since I was a kid. Attentively watching my mum in the kitchen doing her chore always drives me to wonder how food are prepared, and when she lays the platters on the table I marvel how certain smell and taste is acquired. Of course, being a kid, I always asked lots and lots of questions about what is going on in the kitchen and my beloved mum never failed to provide me with answers. And YES I’m still doing that until now.

The desire of cooking is so strong in me and in my early age I’ve tried out cooking whenever my parents were away. just can't wait to get the opportunity to have my hands on; definately not when my mum was around. Therefore, I’ve almost burn down the whole kitchen not once but three times! There was one time, my grandmother (was babysitting me) cried so hard when I told her that I have learnt how to prepare fried rice. I knew she was praying so hard for my mum to come home A.S.A.P. She kept the television on and fed me with a bowl of cookies!
